@horamut nah. We're right there with you.

@Matt you probably shouldn't comment if you don't know what you're talking about, either. Why are you getting your panties in a wad over vodka as horrible as Taaka? My first inclination was to delete your comment (rather than have to approve it) because it seemed more like a personal attack, but I'm too vexed to decide if it actually is or you just don't know how to make a valid argument for the vodka on the merits (or lack thereof) of the vodka.

My review: If you want to "drink on a budget" and you are mixing, give Taaka a try.

Your "review": Definitely try it if you're low on money and can't afford a bottle of Grey Goose[.]

Sounds like we came to the same conclusion with different words in front of it. For the record, I don't like Grey Goose. In fact, the only bottle I've purchased was the one for the review.

I don't think it got a fair shake. I plan on re-reviewing when I can find another bottle.

I've heard good things about Dripping Springs. Unfortunately, it isn't sold in Alabama (at least not the ABC Stores). I'll keep my eye out for it next time I leave the state.

@Jason that's a different vodka, but a night with Don Cossack could easily go the same way.

  6. At the Crystal Head Review on Feb 17, 2010 at 9:46 am...

@Mike has Crystal Head been around long enough to garner brand loyalty? If you've read our Grey Goose Review, you'll know our stance on brand loyalty. The $50 price tag is more than I can afford if I was even interested in becoming a blind follower. I guess it helps that Alabama has little to no vodka advertising. In fact, the only things I've heard about Crystal Head (apart from their website) comes from other people who drink it. Like most others, I was impressed.

I think comparing it to a $6 bottle of vodka is a bit dramatic. I know people have different preferences, but would you really pick Aristocrat, Popov, or Taaka over Crystal Head if given the option?

That said, I'm right with you on the alternatives. I recommend Svedka and Tito's to people far more often than I even mention Crystal Head in conversation. If you like Svedka and Tito's, you may also try looking into Sobieski. The value is unbelievable.

Since I didn't actually buy this vodka, I'm not sure what the price was. Of the three Oregon vodkas I had, Portland 88 was my favorite. http://vodkabuzz.com/vodkas/portland_88

@Jason I think either is possible. Tito's is small batch vodka, which can have varying results, from what I understand. Maybe wait a few months and try again?

@Jason, It's really, really hard to beat the value of Sobieski.

@Frank, I'm sorry to hear the container was a deal breaker. For the record, VodkaBuzz isn't affiliated with Sobieski or any vodka maker, but we are Sobieski fans. I hope they make packaging that's more like what you're after in the future. I know some types of packaging can be a pain.
