Burnett's Vodka. Quadruple distilled for superior smoothness.

Review

I've seen Burnett's on the shelf and have always been afraid of it. I decided to give it a go.

The Shot

I can't explain a flavor. It was slightly bitter, but the bitterness was manageable. It just felt bad in my mouth. I didn't get the drying sensation much. The swallow didn't burn, but the bitter flavors really came out at the end. Burnett's isn't a good shooter.

The Mixed Drink

I mixed Burnett's Vodka with Passion Fruit juice. The bitter flavors came through enough to make the cocktail gross. I've had worse, but I wouldn't recommend Burnett's Vodka when there are better options for around the same price.

Opinions

Burnett's doesn't offer anything that the other bottom shelf vodkas can offer. Get Don Cossack instead.

How's the flavored variety of this vodka? I was thinking of trying some flavored vodka to mix things up a bit, but being a college a student, I tend to have very little money and $8 seems just about right. Are there any other flavored vodkas for this kind of price that are better? Which would you recommend?

    Thanks in advance.

@Matthew, I haven't had any of the flavored Burnett's. I don't do flavored vodkas very often, but I usually go for Stoli or Smirnoff depending on what flavor I want. Again, pretty rare. I haven't checked prices, but Smirnoff's or Skyy's flavored vodkas are acceptable. I say give Burnett's flavors a shot. If it sucks, you're only out $8 and it'll still get the job done. Whether it sucks or not, let us know what you think!

I have been drinking Burnett's for years. I compaired it to Grey Goose straight and it was just as smooth as far as I'm concerned. I have never thought it was bitter but then I'm a screwdriver man so the orange juice is sweet enough for me. I love vodka because I haven't had a hangover in the past twenty-five years plus I don't gross out non-drinkers with my breath.

I've been drinking Burnett's for years. Granted I am a cheap drinker, I can't compare to top shelf but for the money it can't be beat. I just bought a bottle of the Fruit Punch flavor tonight to have on New Year's.

I have been purchasing your vodka for several years now and have found the Cherry Vodka to be the most exceptional Cherry flavored vodka on the market. Until...... In the last few months the flavor of the Cherry vodka took a HORRIBLE turn for the worse. At first I thought it was because I had a cold or something but it now just tastes B A D. That's all I can say. Except for What Did you Do???? I used to have my friends do taste tests to see what they liked better between the modestly priced Burnett's and the so called "better" vodka. Burnett's ALWAYS won. Now you would lose.

Please tell me what you changed and why. In the mean time I will be searching for another Cherry Vodka that has a decent flavor.

Have you tried it lately? I think they got cheap and turned it bad. I compared it to all of the $20 - $40 bottles and it was WAY better. Now they are getting cheap or something.

VodkaBuzz is not affiliated with Burnett's, so we can't help you with your complaint. However, I would suggest looking at Three Olives, 360 Vodka, Stolichnaya, or Smirnoff. They all have cherry flavored vodkas if you can find them. They'll probably be more expensive, but they should be higher quality and hopefully consistently enjoyable. I don't drink a lot of flavored vodka, though.

I've tried the Watermelon and Raspberry flavors. The Watermelon is okay, mixed well with Sprite. The Raspberry...not so much. In the end, we just ended up making jungle juice with them. I'll stick to flavored Sobieski if I want flavored.

Burnett's is my flavored vodka of choice... I would compare the cherry to 3 Olives cherry, and at less than half the price, you can't beat that. It definitely hangs up there with the $20 range vodkas in my opinion. My favorite flavors are cherry and grape.

Without reservation your lime Vodka is the smoothest vodka I have ever had. I was in Applejack liquor in Wheat Ridge, Colorado and an old Russian man maybe 75 years old told me he knew vodka pretty well and he told me to buy your brand. I never dreamed it would be that good. Thanks for a great vodka that nobody knows about. I've tried all the advertised ones like Absolut,Gray Goose, and Svedka. None can touch yours.

I saw something on Twitter just now that said "Burnett's is like the Tim Tebow of Vodka. It sucks but somehow gets the job done." This is true! I drink Burnett's every time I drink though. It's either this or wine coolers. I don't think it tastes very good ONLY because ALL alcohol tastes TERRIBLE in my opinion. I'm sure there's better but here in CO this is what is the cheapest and gets you completely messed up the fastest. It's good for shots and good in mixed drinks. I had the blueberry one for a while because I didn't like the way it tasted straight or w/ anything else. I usually get the strawberry for screwdrivers or the cherry and mix it w/ coke and it tastes EXACTLY like cherry coke. All in all, you get what you pay for. If you think this vodka tastes cheap or bitter, take a second look at the price. In my opinion it only sucks because all alcohol sucks and tastes like shit to me lol.
