I’ve seen Burnett’s on the shelf and have always been afraid of it. I decided to give it a go.

The Shot

I can’t explain a flavor. It was slightly bitter, but the bitterness was manageable. It just felt bad in my mouth. I didn’t get the drying sensation much. The swallow didn’t burn, but the bitter flavors really came out at the end. Burnett’s isn’t a good shooter.

The Mixed Drink

I mixed Burnett’s Vodka with Passion Fruit juice. The bitter flavors came through enough to make the cocktail gross. I’ve had worse, but I wouldn’t recommend Burnett’s Vodka when there are better options for around the same price.

Opinions

Burnett’s doesn’t offer anything that the other bottom shelf vodkas can offer. Get Don Cossack instead.

I am going to have to differ with the bad reviews. I dont like cheap vodka but this vodka i cant tell the difference between the premiums and this one. We drink Vodka martinis and this is so smooth. No harsh taste. You cant beat the price either.

Love Burnetts!! Best value by far. Im a big time vodka person and my household consumes at least 2 to 3 vodka bottles of various kinds and brands per week. That said, you be hard pressed to find anything as smooth with as good a price tag. Be adventurous and mix any of their many flavors with your favorite juice or flavored drink (teas, soda, koolaid, flavored water, almost anything). The plain is also not bad but I recommend the flavored varieties for a cheap night that doesn’t taste cheap. And FYI the no hangover stuff is also true, I never get one and none of my guests have ever complained about getting a hangover with Burnetts, unlike nameless other liquors and beers we’ve tried over the years. Cheers.

How’s the flavored variety of this vodka? I was thinking of trying some flavored vodka to mix things up a bit, but being a college a student, I tend to have very little money and $8 seems just about right. Are there any other flavored vodkas for this kind of price that are better? Which would you recommend?

    Thanks in advance.

@Matthew, I haven’t had any of the flavored Burnett’s. I don’t do flavored vodkas very often, but I usually go for Stoli or Smirnoff depending on what flavor I want. Again, pretty rare. I haven’t checked prices, but Smirnoff’s or Skyy’s flavored vodkas are acceptable. I say give Burnett’s flavors a shot. If it sucks, you’re only out $8 and it’ll still get the job done. Whether it sucks or not, let us know what you think!

I’ve tried the Watermelon and Raspberry flavors. The Watermelon is okay, mixed well with Sprite. The Raspberry…not so much. In the end, we just ended up making jungle juice with them. I’ll stick to flavored Sobieski if I want flavored.

Burnett’s Citrus is fantastic, I mixed it with diet Sprite or 7-Up (most times the no name brand from Walmart, the 2 liter bottle sells for 89 cents.

Nice flavor, refreshing, and a buzzer.

I’ve been drinking Burnett’s for years. Granted I am a cheap drinker, I can’t compare to top shelf but for the money it can’t be beat. I just bought a bottle of the Fruit Punch flavor tonight to have on New Year’s.

I have been purchasing your vodka for several years now and have found the Cherry Vodka to be the most exceptional Cherry flavored vodka on the market. Until…… In the last few months the flavor of the Cherry vodka took a HORRIBLE turn for the worse. At first I thought it was because I had a cold or something but it now just tastes B A D. That’s all I can say. Except for What Did you Do???? I used to have my friends do taste tests to see what they liked better between the modestly priced Burnett’s and the so called “better” vodka. Burnett’s ALWAYS won. Now you would lose.

Please tell me what you changed and why. In the mean time I will be searching for another Cherry Vodka that has a decent flavor.

VodkaBuzz is not affiliated with Burnett’s, so we can’t help you with your complaint. However, I would suggest looking at Three Olives, 360 Vodka, Stolichnaya, or Smirnoff. They all have cherry flavored vodkas if you can find them. They’ll probably be more expensive, but they should be higher quality and hopefully consistently enjoyable. I don’t drink a lot of flavored vodka, though.

Its a very great vodka for the price. It mixes as well as any top shelf vodka on the market. I prefer the original blue top and chase with OJ or redbull thats how to get the party started.

I’ve had the raspberry, pomegranate, orange, citrus, pineapple, mango and limeade. Of these only the last two had a really bad taste although pomegranate is similar but better than raspberry IMO so I plan to get that in the future . I’ve never bought Burnett’s unflavored because Windward Passage is very good and just as cheap. No hangovers so far.

Love the whipped cream, orange, strawberry/banana and iced tea flavors. Iced tea is sweet and not bitter like Firefly. I put whipped cream in any fruit drink to liven it up. I like sweet drinks and Burnett’s fits my budget. I don’t drink the plain because it does have a bitter aftertaste.

I just discovered Burnett’s and I love it….both for the taste (actually the lack there of) and the price. Dollar for dollar the best Vodka I’ve had. Chopin is my favorite and is slightly better ( but then I’m half Polish) but at 3 times the price I’ll drink Burnett’s, thank you very much! I often make pepper vodka by cracking a tablespoon of pepper corns and putting them into a 750L, letting it sit for about 5 days, then stain out the debris. It’s great in bloody marys and I sometimes add a splash to my over the rocks vodka.

The pineapple is great, the rasberry and strawberry are good, the straight vodka isn’t horrible but I wouldn’t drink it, but the fruit punch is the best mixed with a little juice or kool aid or even crystal light but my favorite drink is fruit punch and mountain dew if you mix it with the proper amounts it tastes just like code red which is why it’s called code crimson.

First things first, this Vodka is made in Kentucky. In America. They don’t need to raise prices because they don’t have to pay inport export taxes or tariffs.

Second it is a lower proof which means it’s toxicity is less. So yeah you can be generous.

They have over 30 flavors. They mean business.

It’s bottled my Sir Robert Burnette who goes my “Sir” anymore but someone classy af.

You peel off the labels and find there is a crest on the actual bottle which does take money to make bottles with raised glass like that.

Lastly being around $7-8 a bottle you can party all night for cheap.

There have also been numerous reports of smooth taste as well as limited hangover-ability.

Burnetts = American Dream (good quality product at a reasonable price made by Americans)

The only vodka I regularly buy. Cheap liquor, no hangover. I favor the Burnettes Pineapple vodka mixed with Sunny D (Orange and Peach), or just straight shots. Paid 15 dollars at the ABC store today for 2 750 ml bottles. :)

I have been drinking Burnett’s for years. I compaired it to Grey Goose straight and it was just as smooth as far as I’m concerned. I have never thought it was bitter but then I’m a screwdriver man so the orange juice is sweet enough for me. I love vodka because I haven’t had a hangover in the past twenty-five years plus I don’t gross out non-drinkers with my breath.

Burnett’s is simply divine. For only 8$, this one of a kind vodka sure does get the job done. There is a fabulous assortment of flavors, all tending to the needs of the consumer.
Top 5 Flavors (in no particular order):
    Cherry
    Limeade
    Orange Cream
    Orange
    Fruit Punch
In conclusion, you will not be disappointed. A real bang for your buck, I’ll say!

Being from the South I have a fondness for peaches, and the peach flavor hits the spot when real peach mash isn’t available! Great for the price too! Now don’t get it twisted at all, I still favor premium vodkas such as Stoli, KettleOne, Belvedere, or Grey Goose. This is great when something different is wanted!

Pretty good for the price. Of course, nothing even comes close to Sobieski, but when my budget is tight burnetts does the job and is just as good as Smirnoff or absolut (which kinda suck anyway)

Burnett’s is an acquired taste. I enjoy it because I’ve had it so many times. As a college student, it’s appealing because of it’s low price and there are MANY flavors to choose (for the ladies to drink, of course). Shooting this vodka tends to burn, but I usually don’t have to chase. Mixing with Burnett’s isn’t too bad. Depending on the mixer, you may taste the slight bitterness of the vodka. Orange juice for sure masks the vodka. I give it a C for shooting and a B- when mixing.

I saw something on Twitter just now that said “Burnett’s is like the Tim Tebow of Vodka. It sucks but somehow gets the job done.” This is true! I drink Burnett’s every time I drink though. It’s either this or wine coolers. I don’t think it tastes very good ONLY because ALL alcohol tastes TERRIBLE in my opinion. I’m sure there’s better but here in CO this is what is the cheapest and gets you completely messed up the fastest. It’s good for shots and good in mixed drinks. I had the blueberry one for a while because I didn’t like the way it tasted straight or w/ anything else. I usually get the strawberry for screwdrivers or the cherry and mix it w/ coke and it tastes EXACTLY like cherry coke. All in all, you get what you pay for. If you think this vodka tastes cheap or bitter, take a second look at the price. In my opinion it only sucks because all alcohol sucks and tastes like shit to me lol.

Burnett’s is my flavored vodka of choice… I would compare the cherry to 3 Olives cherry, and at less than half the price, you can’t beat that. It definitely hangs up there with the $20 range vodkas in my opinion. My favorite flavors are cherry and grape.

Without reservation your lime Vodka is the smoothest vodka I have ever had. I was in Applejack liquor in Wheat Ridge, Colorado and an old Russian man maybe 75 years old told me he knew vodka pretty well and he told me to buy your brand. I never dreamed it would be that good. Thanks for a great vodka that nobody knows about. I’ve tried all the advertised ones like Absolut,Gray Goose, and Svedka. None can touch yours.
