Cristall Vodka Review

I’ve seen Cristall vodka sitting on the shelves for ages. With it’s odd shaped bottle, it’s hard to miss. With a lack of other options I picked up a bottle.

One interesting thing won’t be noticed until the cap is off. There seems to be some kind of pouring system in the mouth of the bottle. I’m not entirely sure what it’s for, but I hear the distinctive sound of a ball bearing rolling around when I start and stop pouring.

Cristall is another vodka with a stupid website site policy. Despite the fact that it is not illegal to link to a website, I’m not going to link to the Cristall website because they are foolish enough to demand “express written approval.”

The Shot

The Cristall shot is bitter at first. In the mouth, it remains bitter until the slight bite of the swallow. It leaves a bitter flavor on the back of the tongue. Cristall doesn’t need a chaser, but it’s nice to have one near by.

The Mixed Drink

I mixed Cristall vodka with Sugar Free Red Bull at close to 50/50. The Cristall meshed well with the Red Bull. The bitter flavor seemed to enhance the bite of the energy drink. It’s a fairly enjoyable brew.

Opinions

Daniel and Erin both did shots with me. Daniel said simply, “It’s rough.” Erin wasn’t fond of it either. She made faces, but didn’t complain too much.

The bottle is eye catching, and the pouring mechanism is interesting. It’s a good mixer with Red Bull, but I’d rather not shoot it.

Rated 2 out of 5.

WOW! This is the best I’ve found – by far! Yes, I understand some people enjoy vodka with more alcohol burn and spices…. but Cristall is for the elegant smooth and clean vodka fan. I’ve recently tested 90 spirits and evaluated them on a scoring system (I’m in the industry). Cristall exceeded my expectations and is the best for people looking for a clean crisp vodka with minimal burn (even at room temp!). Try Cristall and you will be amazed.

My pallet may not be that refined, and I cant recall ever being moved to post about a bottle of alcohol. That said, I have downed many a bottle of vodka. Both cheap and expensive. I would rate this at the top of the $10-$20 range. /750ml.(And better then some $30+) To me it is super smooth at room temp. Goes down as easy as a shot of chilled high dollar tequila. I am pretty sure if I chilled it I would be in trouble because it would be like water…

I agree. Been drinking it for years. And people who have tasted it really like it. But you can’t easily find it in restaurants or in many liquor stores. Sounds like very poor marketing. The pouring design is horrible and it freezes so that it takes a while to pour. But don’t tell the Russians, they may not ship it anymore.

The Cristall bottle/marble design sounds very remarkably like the Japanese Ramune soda bottle/marble design – you dislodge a marble in the cap to the neck of the bottle to drink the blandly sweet nonalcoholic beverage. That is probably the reason why the website has the linking policy. They don’t want folks linking the vodka to the Ramune soda, causing a huge legal mess. And I don’t think the company would appreciate a recipe combining the two products, either.
