Tito’s Vodka in the WSJ

It’s no secret that we love Tito’s Handmade Vodka. So, we were stoked to hear that the WSJ had some nice coverage of our most often purchased vodka. There’s nothing revolutionary in the article, but it’s a nice retelling of Tito’s story.

What I meant was…I love Titos and don’t get why he is 4th in bang for the buck… the ratings seem to say otherwise…until you look lower…then it makes no sense…please tell me what I am missing…Thanks!!!

Hi, I was wondering if you had heard any of the recent negative buzz about Tito’s? Though I know Tito’s comes highly recommended, I’ve been hearing somewhat recently (2009-2010) that Tito’s has taken a drop in quality along with an increase in price. I haven’t had a chance to try it yet, but I remember you said that the fact that they were a small batch producer might mean that they have inconsistent quality. Basically, is Tito’s as good now as when you reviewed it?

@cthoman, I agree that Tito’s is great, but there are some other terrific vodkas out there that also come with a very affordable price tag. Sobieski and Svedka are priced quite a bit lower than Tito’s (750 ml. bottles for $11.99, $13.49, and $18.99, respectively, in my neighborhood liquor store in NJ), and are also of very impressive quality and highly enjoyable. Though still not expensive, Tito’s is significantly costlier than these other high quality heavy weights.

I think Howard is right about Tito’s dropping in quality and increasing in price. Maybe they used to be good, but let their success get to their heads and have slacked off. I’ve tried it twice and had the same results. I was expecting something great after reading the reviews, but I was rather disappointed. The taste and feeling going down and after is rather harsh, caustic. A vodka that is very similar to Tito’s in that it’s neutral and flavorless, but with a much, much more pleasant finish is 360.
