The bottle states the following:

Like America itself, American Harvest was built on a promise. From field to bottle, a promise to create the finest quality products, without compromise to the environment or our nations national resources. American Harvest is proudly handcrafted in small batches from organic American wheat, certified organic ingredients and water from deep beneath the snake River plain, yielding a distinctly smooth and silky spirit with a crisp, clean taste.

American Harvest Vodka Review

I had seen American Harvest on the shelves of my local ABC store, then saw a random article calling American Harvest the better version of Grey Goose made in America. I figured I should investigate.

The Shot

At room temperature, American Harvest is pleasant. Like they advertise on the bottle, the vodka is silky on the tongue with a sweet flavor that is easy to call clean. On the swallow, there’s no burn. After a few sips of this vodka to acclimate, I’ve forgone a chaser. American Harvest, it turns out, is one of the rare sipping vodkas I’ve found. If you like your vodka straight, you need to try American Harvest.

The Mixed Drink

At least one person thinks American Harvest is the Grey Goose of America in that it embodies the same (supposed) elegance, but bests Goose on taste. People that agree with that sentiment will probably be livid with the next part of this review. VodkaBuzz has never been about frou frou cocktails and I think martinis are better left to those that enjoy them. I’m sure it won’t be long before some of our contributors post their own martini reviews. As I said previously, I’ve recently become a big fan of sweet tea and vodka as a cocktail.

So, I mixed American Harvest with sweet tea and a good squirt of lemon juice. The vodka mixed fairly well. Where other vodkas that I do like, e.g. [Sobieski](/vodkas/sobieski/), stand out too much, American Harvest assimilates. I can still detect the vodka in the mix, but it’s easy to ignore.

Opinions

American Harvest is a great vodka to drink straight or mixed. I’d pick this vodka over Grey Goose any time.

Rated 5 out of 5.

My favorite drink is Vodka with Club Soda and a bit of lime. In the past, well vodka was just fine for me, so to be honest, I was never what I call a “Vodka Snob” until a lounge I walked into told me they were out of well vodka and asked if American Harvest would be OK? I said “that would be fine”. Little did I know that this moment would change the way I look at Vodka for the rest of my life. There are a lot of so-called smooth vodka’s out there. American Harvest was not only smooth but it had a finish that was different. Now understand that I am not a wine aficionado and I have never used the term “finish” when referring to the taste of anything, let alone Vodka but apparently I had heard this term somewhere before and it just seemed appropriate. Yes it is organic but I don’t care about that. It just flat out taste better than any other Vodka I have ever tried. Now Im a Vodka Snob thanks to American Harvest. Kind of pisses me off!

If your not into spending big bucks for Crystal Head or Grey Goose VX then American Harvest is simply the best decision you can make for a twenty something dollar bottle of Vodka. I haven’t come across a better Vodka in my life. The ONLY disappointing thing about this brand is it only comes in 750ml bottles not the larger 1.5L bottle size which usually equates into a significant savings for the one drink a night for relaxing.

Best American vodka ever. Clean smooth crisp a touch of citrus to it, made with the right grain, winter wheat, outstanding, they should sell this in Russia where it would be appreciated properly. Can’t wait to get a bottle next week.

It would be appreciated in my martini glass. Too bad I can’t find it on any of the local liquor store shelves. :-(

Most liquor stores will bring in a spirit if you ask them to.
I had sked my local cornor store to bring in American Harvest, now he buys it by the case.

Robert, your review and high rating of American Harvest vodka is intriguing. Though I have never heard of it prior to your review, I will definitely be on the lookout for it on the local liquor store shelves. As you’ve alluded, I will post a review of this vodka, assuming that I can find it, within the context of its martini performance. ; -)

I know it’s been a while, but just ask your local spirit retailer to bring it in. If he isn’t offering it, he’s missing out. And if you are any kind of a semiregular customer, he should jump at the chance to have your business and your dollars on a regular basis.
