Purus, with it’s wavy neck, is easy to spot on the shelf. This certified organic Italian vodka looks fancy, but it’s what’s on the inside that counts. Luckily, Purus delivers.
Straight
Purus is easy to drink straight. It has a good mouth feel with some slightly sweet tones. The finish is peppery, but doesn’t burn. After siping my way through a shot or two, I don’t feel like drinking a chaser. After a minute or so, the vodka feels like it’s cleared out of my mouth altogether.
If you like your vodka neat out of the freezer, you’ll like Purus.
Mixed
Mixed in an ice pick, Purus works well. It’s almost transparent. I can tell there is vodka in it but it doesn’t mess with the flavor of the tea very much. In Crystal Light, Purus fades into the background and isn’t detectable at all. I wanted to do more with mixing this vodka, but I finished the bottle before I got a chance.
Final Thoughts
While the shape of the bottle calls for a martini, I’m not that type of vodka drinker. Purus looks fancy and tastes excellent, but it’s also great as down-home, everyday vodka that handles my needs perfectly. You won’t be disappointed with Purus.
