Oryza is the first vodka I’ve had that is distilled from rice. Normally, I’d insert the normal copy about the Vodka Wars and whether a true vodka can be made from rice, but I’m tired of repeating it as more people are trying to produce neutral spirits from different ingredients under the name “vodka.”

Mini Review

Oryza tastes a lot like really strong saki. There is no burn and it sits well in the mouth. Oryza is very smooth and very easy to drink. I didn’t need a chaser. If you like saki, this is a great vodka to look for.

I mixed Oryza with in ice pick (that’s sweet tea with lemon). Oryza didn’t mess with the flavors of the tea too much, though there was a hint of saki flavor. That said, it mixed better than an average vodka.
