Blue Ice Vodka Review

4 StarStarStarStarStar

Blue Ice Vodka was recommended by several readers. Plus, as we established, we like potato vodkas.

The Shot

Blue Ice is neutral at first taste. It stays neutral until the swallow. At that point, things get a little bitter, but there isn’t much of a burn. While I wouldn’t call Blue Ice a sipping vodka, I’m not reaching for a chaser.

The Mixed Drink

I mixed Blue Ice with Crystal Light. Blue Ice blended well. It’s easy to drink, and there’s not much more you can ask for.

Final Thoughts

Recently, I haven’t been very happy with the potato vodkas I’ve tried. Fortunately, Blue Ice got me back on track. It’s no Chopin, but it doesn’t cost as much, either.

Rated 4 out of 5.

I would have to respectfully disagree with you on some things in your review. I find the Blue Ice Potato Vodka to be slightly sweet and not bitter at all.
I think it is a good sipping vodka and I have been known to sip a little straight both warm and chilled. My favorite way to drink it is straight over Ice- no garish.
I’m glad it’s not Chopin. Chopin to me has a distinctive aroma that is very chemical, has a slight diesel fuel taste and burns going down- Just my opinion !

Completely under-rated in my opinion. I’ve tried, mucho vodkas. I don’t always agree with everyone, but for the most part, I’m on the same page. This one is out of this world, GREAT.

For those of who love potato vodka, this is a crime.
One of the characteristics of many (popular brands) have a metallic taste.
Blue Ice has managed to create the taste of many of these , the metallic taste in particular.

What a disappointment . Maybe too much research, or marketing, and not enough appreciation of quality.

There are many really good, high quality potato vodkas out there
Too bad I can’t include you among them.

Blue Ice is my go-to vodka to sip straight and in Martinis. There is a slight flavor that lets me pick Blue Ice out in comparison tastings. It could be a combination of the viscosity, the water, the potatoes, the filtration or the 5 column distilling process that gives it the distinct mouth feel, aroma and taste. When it comes to rating it at 5 stars, it is a matter of comparison and personal taste. Fortunately we have our own taste buds and olfactory senses with a brain to sort out our preferences, so one reviewers 3 star can be another taster’s 5 star.

I also have some Russian potato and higher proof grain vodkas in my bar, but taste, aroma, and price make this my number one.

Many have complained about the screw cap. They listened, the newer clear bottles have a cork closure to respect some drinkers :-).

Blue ice is a great American vodka, clean and crisp with a little burn on the way down. I love my vodka icy cold with some frost on the bottle. Great price, nice to see America picking up on their vodka game, take notice skyyyy!

Blue Ice is my new go-to vodka.
Only complaint is the metal collar. It’s hard to remove, consequently , I have cut my fingers on the sharp edges.
