Cupcake Vodka Review

Cupcake has branched out from wine to vodka. Sort of. They brought a little wine influence in the form of 2% grape neutral spirits. While Ciroc, made entirely of grapes, is doing well, Cupcake took a slightly more traditional approach.

The Shot
Cupcake Vodka is fairly sweet in the mouth. It’s comfortable, even when swallowing. It’s easy to drink except for the wafting of ethanol that goes back into my nose after I swallow. It’s easy enough to ignore, though. I could easily get by without a chaser, but I’m happy to have one.

The Mixed Drink
I mixed Cupcake Vodka into a Simply Orange Juice screwdriver. The vodka mixes seamlessly with the screwdriver. At least with sweet mixers, I think Cupcake Vodka would shine in anything.

Final Thoughts
Cupcake is a pretty versatile vodka. It mixes like a dream, and can be sipped straight if you fancy. If you haven’t tried Cupcake Vodka, put it on your to do list.

Rated 5 out of 5.

Sorry for the pejorative language…but it is BOMBASS.The only shortcoming is the smell even the bite is palatable. The mouth is good, the swallow better. This vodka doesn’t burn when it sits on the belly. I have yet to get a bad or medium review when I serve it.

I haven’t been as involved in my vodka quest for the last year or so, but I am still curious to try a new “great” vodka from time to time. Since Cupcake seems to be one of the easy to find vodkas on my list of vodkas that I still want to try, I think that it will probably be the next one I buy.

Though I haven’t been as active in vodka hunting as I was a couple of years ago, I still get the opportunity to try new vodkas occasionally at restaurants and parties. I haven’t had a chance to try Cupcake Original unflavored vodka yet, but the Lemon Chiffon flavor was delicious when mixed with lemonade or neat on the rocks.

my rule is that the more times through the distiller the better i find i like it. this stuff is six times through the mill so yay for me. picked up two bottles today on sale at Trader Joes…$5 bucks. enjoying the first cocktail now and it’s back tomorrow for a case. Excellent vodka and a smokin’ deal price.

I typically use it mixed with grapefruit juice and this stuff goes along with that beautifully. might even try a shot later to see how that works out.

I mixed the berry flavored cupcake vodka w/sugar free rockstar and was pleasantly surprised! Had never heard of this vodka but it was on sale @ the AF Base so I gave it a shot (heehee) I will be going back tomorrow to stock up! Great flavor and no strong rubbing alcohol flavor like absolute vodka. I would compair it to ciroc but maybe a little less strong…great for mixing! Haven’t tried a shot straiht yet but maybe I will, lol

This one seems like a unique niche vodka. Just like a few other vodkas that you’ve recently reviewed, this one seems worth a try. Too bad that I have nearly full bottles of Sobieski (1.75L), Americana Luxury Vodka, and Crystal Head, a half finished fifth of Stoli, and an almost empty liter of Jean Marc XO since I will have to wait to add any new vodkas to sample to my home collection.

Cry me a river! I wish I had all that in my freezer, especially the Jean Marc. I have only seen that on shelves one time and it was an 11 hour drive. With a wine business to back it, I doubt Cupcake is going anywhere. It’ll be there when you finish all that terrible vodka you have ;)

        LOL! I hear you. ;)

BTW, did you ever read my review about the taste test between Crystal Head and Jean Marc XO? I posted it in both vodka threads last Fall.

Yes, I did. I think I probably saved it as a “Need to Comment” for several months before I figured it was pointless because I waited so long. It was a hard winter :P

I’d say I agree 100%, but it’s been a really long time since I had Crystal Head last, and a really, really, really long time since I’ve had Jean Marc XO. My expectation is that I would agree 99%. Mainly I don’t recall a burnt rubber taste, but I do remember there was a perfume taste (like if you got a little perfume in your mouth). We might be describing the same sensation in different ways.

Whatever the case, I think we agree on the most important part: they are both excellent vodkas.

Yes, they are truly two vodka titans, in my opinion. I think that you are correct that we are describing the same unusual subtle flavor present in Jean Marc XO in different ways. I understand what you mean by describing it as having a hint of perfume in your mouth. Perfume; burnt rubber and vanilla extract…close enough. ; -)
