This exacting, time honored process ensures an exceptionally smooth taste, clean finish, and vibrant clarity by which all other vodkas should be judged. Vox vodka, the voice of perfection.

Vox Vodka Review

2 StarStarStarStarStar

Vox paid more attention to their bottle than any other vodka maker I know of. The detail they pay to every inch is impressive, from the ribs on the cap that reflect the ribs on the body, to the extruded dimples on bottom rim. Even the subtle graphic design on the label is beautifully crafted.

The vodka the bottle holds is no less impressive for the price range. The first time I tried Vox, I was astounded by the sweet flavor and the smooth texture. My pallet has grown since then, but Vox is still one of my favorite vodkas.

The Shot

It’s hard not to be biased about Vox. It was the first vodka I had that I believed was “high quality.” The flavor of the shot is still as sweet as ever, but the bitter flavors are more apparent to me now. The shot goes down easily with only a slight burning. The aftertaste feels like putting a 9 volt battery on my tongue. That sounds unpleasant, but it’s really a fun feeling. While I won’t tout Vox as ultra-premium like I would several years ago, I still think this is one of the better shooting vodkas around.

The Mixed Drink

The flavors in Vox cause a problem for mixed drinks. Vox made my screw drivers taste bitter. At first, I sneered at the concoction and wished that it tasted better for the review. After finishing my first drink, it tasted natural and I wanted more of the flavor. I’m not sure if this counts as improving upon the flavor of the mixer or detracting from it. Either way, the mixed drink, despite the awkward flavor was easy to sip or drink.

Opinions

Erin says, “I’ve always liked Vox, at least as a mixer, and, as a shooter, it’s about the same as X Rated.” Erin, however, isn’t a fan of shooting vodka and tends to not particularly enjoy any vodka unless it’s mixed with something.

My taste in vodka has grown over the years as I’ve discovered better vodkas. Vox played a part in this, graduating me from Skyy. Vox is a great vodka for the money, and I still buy it on occasion. I recommend Vox to anyone who wants to move up from lower grade vodkas to something more palatable or to anyone who wants to leave a good impression on guests. It’s not the best vodka out there, but for the price range, there really isn’t anything better.

Rated 2 out of 5.

Robert, it’s time to clean this mess up – Vox is one of the best vodkas for less than $50 per bottle, and yet due to some bozos that tried to drink the display bottle, it has bad comments and user rating of 1 – WTF? — can you please delete the goofball comments where they are badmouthing this vodka while trying to drink the filler liquid in the display bottle and the corresponding low ratings? – otherwise, the credibility of Vodka Buzz is severely strained! – thanks!

I’m seeing a 4 for user rating. Did you find a bug in the site somehow?

OMG, These reviewers probably like Absolut the well of all vodka!
I am a true Vodka connoisseur, I’ve tried them all. I have even done the warm taste test and named every one to form.
Great mixer and smooth. If you are mixing, I place above Kettle, Stoli, Finlandia, Sky, Chopin, Belvedere, Pinacle and any other newcomer. I find nothing wrong with Smirnoff if Vox, Stoli or Kettle is not available. Goose is my choice for a martini!
Smirnoff was a top shelf Vodka for many years.
Absolute as a Vodka is equal to saying Jose Querveo Gold is Tequila. I found that out the hard way in San Diego…
Now if you want to talk Tequila, Jose does make a fine repasado “LeFamilia Reserva” and even the Platinum.
    All another conversation.
VOX Vodka can stand on it own as a pure quality Vodka.
    Try it you’ll like it!

I’ve purchased Vox and the taste is well about the price; truly a very nice vodka. I’m not a shooter, but in a mix of anything diet non-cola, it’s great.

I loved this Vodka. I know some people have given it low reviews, but I think it is more worthy than that. It is really smooth, goes well straight, is especially good after chilling it, and has sweet vanilla like tones. The only down side is the “rubbing alcohol” effect that comes through slightly after a couple seconds. I really recommend it, especially when you can find it for $17 like I did!

Oh my! – this is the best vodka available in Alabama, by far! – the only thing even close to this quality is Chopin – VOX is world class, I would pay $75/bottle for this, no problem!

I tried this after being a long time kettle one drinker. I like it but I think I’m sticking with Ktl-1.

I have a large 30″ tall bottle of Vox vodka which has graced my bar for about 8 years. Finally we decide it was time to partake. When I opened the sealed cork top the vodka smelled like sulfuric acid or developer fluid. When mixed with cream, the cream instantly curdled. Thank God, no one drank any of it.

Does anyone know what has happened to it. Obviously it has gone through some type of chemical reaction. It has never been exposed to direct sunlight, It has always been in climate controlled environments and until now has never been opened.

I still have the rest of the acid and would be willing to send it to Vox if they need to analyze it. I suspect they have had other experiences. This annot be the only event like this. Someone please let me know what has happened.

    What a waste of taste!

That is a waste! It sounds like it got contaminated somehow (whether in the bottling process by design or by accident). As I’m sure you know, vodka should be (roughly) ethanol and water, which wouldn’t spoil, even in sunlight, if kept pure. My sincerest condolences. That’s a lot of great vodka to lose.

hutchinst that bottle that you had was a display bottle that was not filled with alcohol. It is a mixture of water and a solution so that it keeps the liquid in the bottle looking clear. Those big bottles were sent to bars and were meant for display purposes. Just thought i would inform everyone.

My friend bought me a $20 bottle of this for my 30th birthday. We drank nearly the entire bottle that night. I started with a room temperaure shot. It wasn’t that bad and I needed no chaser. Vox has a slightly sweet flavor that kicks a bit after a swallow it. Mixed well with Diet Mountain Dew. When I got home and chilled the bottle, I tested it against 2 other vodkas. 1/2 shot of Vox, then a 1/2 shot Sobieski, another half shot of Vox, and finally a half shot of Boru. I liked Sobieski a bit more than Vox, and Boru a bit less.

Oh, and I almost forgot. The bottle is PIMP!!! Even if you don’t like vodka, the bottle alone is almost enough reason to get Vox.

I started my true vodka passion as a kettle one drinker but then I found Vox. I think Vox leaves a far smoother taste than Kettle One and is thus is my preference.
